Our target
NurseCheck aims to be usable by people with disabilities. Our engineering target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA where reasonably practicable.
What the site does today
- A “skip to main content” link at the top of every page.
- Semantic headings, landmarks, and a single
h1per page. - Each question is a labelled group of radio buttons that works with the keyboard alone.
- Results update in a polite live region so screen readers announce changes.
- Visible keyboard focus, text that reflows at 200% zoom, and no meaning carried by color alone.
- A print stylesheet, so results can be saved as PDF with the browser’s own print dialog.
- No images of text, no autoplaying media, and no third-party widgets.
Known limitations
- No independent accessibility audit has been completed yet.
- Comparison tables scroll horizontally on narrow screens.
- Long verbatim statutory passages are reproduced as published, which can make them dense to read.
