Summary
- The checks run entirely in your browser. Your answers are not sent to NurseCheck, are not placed in the page address, and are not stored after you leave the page.
- The site’s own code sets no cookies and uses no browser storage.
- There are no accounts, forms, payments, advertising, affiliate tracking, session replay, or third-party advertising pixels.

Information we process

We use this information to provide and secure the website, respond to inquiries, diagnose technical problems, understand aggregate usage, improve the site, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or analytics that rely on cookies. Every script, cookie, and analytics tool on the site, and how we checked, is listed in the cookie and analytics disclosure.
Service providers
- Cloudflare, Inc. — hosting, content delivery, security, aggregate web analytics, and email routing for hello@nursecheck.org.
- Mailbox provider — email sent to hello@nursecheck.org is forwarded to the editor’s mailbox. The mailbox is hosted by Google LLC (Gmail).
Links to official sources (for example eCFR or the Texas Legislature) take you to those websites, which have their own privacy policies.
Retention and deletion
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above, unless a longer period is required by law. Request and analytics data are held by Cloudflare under its own retention periods; NurseCheck does not export or combine them with other data.
Email correspondence: general inquiries are deleted within 24 months of the last message; correspondence that led to a published correction is kept for as long as that correction appears in the log, with personal details removed where possible; deletion requests are completed within 30 days unless the message must be kept for a legal claim.

Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live and whether statutory thresholds apply to NurseCheck, you may have rights to access, delete, correct, or port personal information; to opt out of certain sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or profiling; and to appeal a decision about your request. This includes residents of California and other states with consumer privacy laws.
Regardless of whether a law requires it, we will respond to requests to access or delete email correspondence you sent us. Send requests to hello@nursecheck.org with the subject line “Privacy request.”
Global Privacy Control
NurseCheck does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is currently nothing for a Global Privacy Control signal to opt you out of. If that changes, we will honor recognized opt-out signals as applicable law requires, and this policy will say so before the change takes effect.
Security, children, and changes
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we process, including HTTPS and restrictive browser security headers. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure.
NurseCheck is intended for professional and general adult audiences and is not directed to children.
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top changes when we make material changes.
