No individual legal determination
NurseCheck organizes statutes, regulations, and official guidance into interactive checks, tables, and summaries. These tools help you identify potentially relevant legal sources and the questions those sources raise. They are not intended to determine:
- whether your employer violated the law;
- whether you have a legal claim;
- whether you are entitled to damages;
- whether you should sue;
- whether you should file a complaint;
- how the law applies to your individual circumstances.
When a check asks about facts, the questions identify information that may affect which legal source is relevant. The answers are not graded.
Official sources
NurseCheck prioritizes official government and regulatory sources. A citation or link to an official source does not mean that NurseCheck endorses any particular legal interpretation.
Pages distinguish statutory and regulatory text from agency guidance. Guidance is labelled “Regulator reading — not statutory text,” and the two categories should not be treated as interchangeable.
Consult the official source for the current authoritative text. Each page shows the date its quotations were last verified; that date is a snapshot, not a promise of current accuracy. How sources are selected and checked is described on the Method page.
